Arctic Bath
This is a hotel that has to be seen to be believed. Arctic Bath, a floating hotel about and hour from Luleå in Swedish Lapland, is just such a hotel. Six of its twelve cabins are floating on the Luleå river as is the main hotel reception, restaurant and spa area.
It is a dream like vision in the winter season and there is a wide range of activities for their guests to enjoy.
The land cabins are spread over two floors with a loft-like layout: a spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine bedroom and there are wonderful full height windows. The floating water cabins – connected to the shore by a walkway – are fixed in place by the ice in winter and buoyed by the river in summer.
